Wake up at 7 and have a glorious swim in the infinity pool overlooking the verdant fields. Finish off your swim with a relaxed, healthy breakfast at the pool side restaurant called “Bistro”. Consult a fruitologist and Cerealogist for their recommendation on the best fruit platter and cereal for you. Choose from a wide selection of juices, smoothies and Alila special blends of coffees. Order sannas- a goan staple consisting of chorizo and steamed rice buns. If you still have space-share a side of waffles or berry pancakes with your companion.

10 am hitch a ride with the hotel to the nearest beach and take your sandals off and walk along the sand. Walking bare footed has a host of health benefits -it helps in keeping you grounded, alleviating stress and tensions. Grab a fresh juice or a coconut water from one of the shacks and spend some time getting your Vitamin D on. We don’t get much vitamin D in the winter which leads to irritability, weak and brittle bones, achy joints and depression. Spending a few minutes in the sun is a great way to get your daily quota of vitamin D. Just wear protective eye gear/sunglasses and protect your face by wearing a hat.

12 noon – Head back to the hotel for a siesta. If you aren’t in the mood for a nap- hop across to the alila spa and book yourself a traditional Kerala massage and a facial or hair ritual. I would thoroughly recommend the padh-abhyangam or the shiro-abhyangam to ease your stresses, improve circulation and leave you feeling invigorated and fresh.

2-3 pm Grab a wholesome lunch at the coffee shop- Vivo with a beer/cocktail to wash off the spices. I would strongly suggest you try their Thai chicken red curry and a side of chicken satay accompanied with a steaming bowl of nasi goreng. They have a pretty limited menu at the coffee shop if you are ordering ala carte but each item is carefully curated and absolutely delicious. If you aren’t tired and have enough time on your hands- browse the alila shops for gifts for your friends and family. Take a book and curl up on the deck chairs overlooking the infinity pools for a little afternoon reading.

5-7 pm- Head to the gymnasium for a one on one session with the personal trainer to help work up an appetite for dinner. If you are a seasoned exerciser, you can help yourself to the facilities, indulge in some yoga and finish with a few minutes of steam and sauna.

830 pm onwards- Arrive at the award winning Indian Restaurant- Spice Studio and let the chef take you on a culinary journey. I would suggest that you go for one of the signature cocktails and order some of the traditional goan dishes (prawn balchao, pork vindaloo, beef assad) and go for a chef’s seafood rasam. Don’t forget to try their incredible variety of relish, pickle and chutneys with prawn and sweet potato crackers. End your meal on a sweet note with the coconut sorbet, a generous serving of bebinca (traditional goan dessert) and some star anise and orange ice cream (prepared inhouse).

Ask the staff at the Diwa Wing to set up a bubble bath for you in the room so you can go over the days events and indulge in some much needed “me time”. Get some rest because this is the best night’s sleep you are going to get in Goa with an incredibly comfortable bed and temperature controlled rooms with minimal noise/distractions.

One day in this gorgeous property is too little but I promise you you’ll be booking yourself a room for the weekend at the next chance you get. This gorgeous wellness sanctuary with a state of the art spa and gym, and unrivalled hospitality offers an incredible experience in the quiet confines of South Goa away from all the raves and madness. Don’t just take my word for it- Book yourself a room today.

P.S- Ask for a room in the Diwa Wing.
