American celebrity dermatologist Dr. Kiran Lohia has brought the latest celebrity secret here to New Delhi with her proprietary NY Facial, a triple therapy combination that gets you red carpet ready in just under an hour! This treatment requires absolutely no down time and you can sneak in for an appointment during lunch break and walk out feeling absolutely fabulous. The procedure is virtually painless and doesn’t come with any side effects – however Doctor Lohia does recommend that you stay away from the sun for a few days post the session.
The first step of the NY Facial involves gentle resurfacing, to help get rid of those dead skin cells that are stuck to the surface. Dr Lohia picks a different process depending on your skin woes. My skin was tired and stressed out and I had under eye bags from an erratic sleep cycle so she picked microdermabrasion for my face. This process lasts only a few minutes revealing newer, baby soft skin. Next the treatment with the US FDA Approved collagen stimulating lasers begins. This is also known as the ‘Clearlift’ in Manhattan and celebrities like Miranda Kerr often go in for this the day of the show. This laser toning acts deep within the skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines, hyper pigmentation, dullness, and broken blood vessels for a clear, radiant complexion with a healthy glow. Dr Lohia works differently for each patient after studying how their skin responds and with me she focused on alleviating some of the inflammation, open pores, rosacea and working on the dreadful under eye bags. I felt uncomfortable at first and a little hot and clammy but it wasn’t painful or in the least bit uncomfortable. Dr Lohia kept answering my questions and calming my nerves through the treatment and reassuring me that there would be absolutely no need for downtime. Once the laser session is over, a hydrating medical masque is applied to soothe and cool the skin and prevent any redness, irritation or inflammation. While the masque is on, the therapists treat the face gently with a light therapy called ‘Red Rx’ which, helps to suppress any bumps or inflammation and keep the skin cool. This last step is called ‘LED therapy’ where she uses different light for different purposes- soothing, anti ageing, wrinkles and fine lines or acne. When 40 minutes were up, I asked her if she could hand over a mirror so I could see my face and I was absolutely thrilled. When I walked into the clinic without kohl in my eyes, I looked pale with under eye bags and skin that was inflamed, irritated and tired but I could now see a visible reduction in the under eye bags and I didn’t even need the kohl. My skin looked hydrated, well nourished and brighter and more luminescent post the session. The staff at the clinic was very patient and took a lot of pictures with me as I extremely thrilled with the results.
I texted Doctor Lohia when my friends and family said that the results of the treatment got better after a few days. Sometimes, the treatment takes time to settle in and your face actually looks its best about 3-4 days post the facial.
Verdict- is it expensive, hell yes? Is it worth it- if you are getting married or have an important event coming up and feel like your face needs an instant pick me up- this is ideal. I know a lot of brides who get this done a few weeks before their wedding. The results last about 6-8 months and unlike other treatments and peels – this comes with absolutely no downtime.

After care instructions-
Avoid going out without a hat or going for a swim for the first week.
Apply sunscreen with minimum SPF 30 for at least two weeks post treatment
Use hydrating moisturizers as required.

Do not go in for a facial or bleaching for the duration of the treatment.
