Winter is synonymous with dry flakey scalps, dandruff, dry brittle hair and a lot of static induced breakage. Which is why, it becomes extremely crucial to amp up your hair care routine to nourish, protect and moisturise your strands. If you’ve been following my blog- you would’ve read about my experience with Toni and Guy’s signature hair rituals. The Imperial Hotel Salon, too, has an incredible state of the arts facility open to guests and the general public. With programmes curated by Haley Louis Dack, this salon boasts of a unique caviar ritual for a distressed scalp and damaged hair.
I’ve swum for almost 8 months of the year for the most part of my life and have coloured my hair too many times to count. The wedding season over the last few weeks also spelt destruction to healthy hair strands because of the copious use of products, chemicals, tongs and straighteners. Naturally, when I first heard about the caviar ritual, I was waiting to give it a try.
When I walk into the salon, I notice the decadent and plush interiors with incredible fittings and wash stations all the way from Italy. My hair therapist- Dinesh Kumar starts me off with a hair and scalp analysis and I was pleasantly surprised to hear that my hair was better than I expected. The ritual began with an indulgent shampoo and rinse before the treatment on ergonomically designed massage chairs and products from the kerastase range. He then whipped up a paste using premium ingredients and let it sit before applying it on my hair. The velvety paste contains the goodness of rich caviar pearls, fresh pacific sea water, potent doses of vitamin A & E and an active component of chamomile designed to repair the hair and soothe the scalp. The therapist massaged my scalp to make sure that the treatment had been assimilated by the hair shaft and roots. The treatment acts as an emollient (softens dry, brittle hair), nourishes hair and regenerates the fibre with the healing properties of ceramides, gluco- lipids and silicone.
I was falling asleep when I caught a waft of the gorgeous aroma of a frothy cappuccino at my table. The therapist spent a few more minutes on a gentle neck and shoulder massage while he used a steaming hot towel on my scalp for optimal absorption. Upon finishing, I hopped across to the other side of the salon to rinse off the product.
Unlike conventional hair rituals, the caviar treatment is not impacted after a gentle blow dry, he assured me. I felt my strands while they were still damp and couldn’t believe how soft and smooth the ends had become. He promised me that I would be happier after the blow dry and boy, was I ecstatic. My hair had been subjected to so many chemicals, treatments, colours and chlorine and yet after one treatment – it looked radiant, smelt incredible and felt so silky.
I booked myself another session for a month from now so that I can hope to have healthier, lustrous looking locks that are radiant and nourished. If you are based in Delhi and have an hour to spare on tired, damaged tresses- you should look no further. This treatment is well worth the price and one treatment every couple of months will have your hair looking incredible. Looking after your hair has never felt this decadent.
