Margaret Dabbs is a well known entity in the beauty world for her express medical pedicure and as a celebrity foot expert the world over. She revolutionised the way we envision pedicures by curating a special medical pedicure that is safe, waterless and is more effective than the conventional pedicures. Her state of the art tools are sterilised three times before being used on a client and all her therapists are equipped to deal with all the problems of the foot and ankle including warts, corns, bunions and athlete’s foot.
The experts are trained under Margaret Dabbs foot academy in London and check for bunions, callouses, fungal infections or any discolouration in the nails- during your treatment. This express ritual, was only limited to London and Dubai but has been introduced now at Aayna Clinic, New Delhi. Great news for people who love to pamper their toes in a little TLC without having to always fly halfway across the globe to get stellar treatments.
What is so special about the Margaret Dabbs method? Well, for one it eliminates any microbial or fungal scares because it is a waterless pedicure. Additionally, all the equipment used goes through three different sterilisation procedures. The foot therapists make sure that each tool is sterilised with an autoclave, before being used on a client, thereby reducing any risk of infections. They go beyond the aesthetic and attempt to fix any foot problems including athletes foot, callouses, corns and nail fungus. Unlike other pedicures, Margaret Dabbs method incorporates Australian emu oil to restore the moisture and serve as an emollient so you can say goodbye to cracked heels.
I walked in to Aayna on a weekday afternoon for a session with Lily, who had trained at The Margaret Dabbs Academy in London. She had a look at my feet and asked me if I had any complaints or issues. She briefed me of the procedure and handed me a few magazines to keep me busy through the treatment. I was pretty surprised to see that the pedicure was waterless and used only hot, antibacterial towels in between treatments to wipe the foot. She was very patient and gentle with me and made sure I was comfortable throughout. After some exfoliation and dry buffing, she proceeded to clean the buildup of epithelial tissue (dead skin) with a surgical blade. Lily used the tools with a lot of precision and concentration and gently removed the cuticles without damaging the nail bed or pushing the cuticle too far back. The whole experience was relaxing, comfortable and virtually painless. She finished the ritual with a generous slather of Australian emu oil that she rubbed onto the soles of my feet and my nails to keep them looking radiant, healthy and moisturised.
I walked out with a spring in my step- feeling lighter and more connected to mother earth. My nails look clear, healthy and more radiant and I don’t even feel tempted to put nail paint on. I highly recommend this ritual to everyone out there because its natural, long lasting and leaves you feeling cleaner, lighter and thoroughly pampered.
